Diamond White (born January 1, 1999) is an American R&B/pop singer and actress from Los Angeles, California who finished in 5th place. She was a part of the Teens catagory, mentored by Britney Spears..

Background

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Diamond got a role at age 8 in a Chicago-based production of The Color Purple that then toured nationally. She has also worked as a voice actor, having had a role in the cartoon Transformers: Rescue Bots and a cameo in the popular Disney Channel cartoon Phineas and Ferb

Despite the acting work, Diamond admitted to sleeping on a couch in a "box" apartment with her mother in Los Angeles.

The X Factor

Diamond auditioned for the show in San Francisco with "It's A Man's Man's Man's World" by the great James Brown. She wowed the judges with her powerful voice, resulting in her making it to bootcamp. She passed both bootcamp tasks and made it to Judges' Homes with Britney Spears as her mentor. Diamond wowed her and her guest advisor, will.i.am of the Black-Eyed Peas, with her rendition of Avril Lavigne's "I'm With You", which helped her get to the live shows.

In the first live show, Diamond sang "Hey, Soul Sister" by Train, but she ended up in a sing-off with Arin Ray and was eliminated. The judges, however, felt that a mistake was made and decided to bring Diamond back. She then proceeded to progress through the competition with her take on songs like "Diamonds" by Rihanna and "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" by the late Whitney Houston.

Diamond was finally eliminated on December 5, 2012, finishing in 5th place.

Post X Factor

Since her time on the show, Diamond has been focused on school and acting. She got a small role on the popular CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory. She later had a recurring role on the Nickelodeon series The Haunted Hathaways and the Disney Junior series Sofia The First. She also got to voice a character on the popular Disney Channel animated show Phineas and Ferb.

In terms of music, Diamond continues to sing, having recorded guest vocals on Lyric 145's version of the will.i.am/Britney Spears hit "Scream and Shout" off of their mixtape, The L.O.F.F. Tape. She also sang a song called "Peace" with songwriter Toby Gad, whom she is currently working with, for World Refugee Day.

Diamond's debut EP, Pressure, was released independently on December 4, 2015.
