Antonio '"LA" Reid (born June 7, 1956) is a Grammy Award-winning songwriter, record producer and record executive

who is perhaps best known for co-founding LaFace Records with Grammy-winning R&B singer-songwriter Babyface as well as launching the careers of such artists as Usher, Justin Bieber, P!nk, TLC, Avril Lavigne and others. He was the president and CEO of Island Def Jam Music Group until 2011 when he joined The X Factor USA as a judge/mentor. He is now the president and CEO of Epic Records.


Season One[]

For the first season (2011), LA mentored the boys. His acts included Astro, Marcus Canty, Chris Rene, and Phillip Lomax. Three of the guys(Astro, Marcus, and Chris) all got signed after the show.

Season Two[]

For the second season (2012), LA mentored the Over 25s, a catogory he wasn't thrilled at first to get. His acts included Vino Alan, David Correy, Jason Brock, and the winner, Tate Stevens.

On December 13, 2012, Reid announced that he would not be returning for season 3.
